How much does it cost to import a vehicle from Japan to Europe ?
There are two customs fees in Europe :
- Standard rate 10%, applied on all vehicle under 30 years of age (VAT will be applied afterwards)
- Reduced rate 5.5%, applied on all vehicle above 30 years of age (no VAT applied)
Examples :
- For a -30 year old vehicle :
Total price at port = 10,000€
+ Customs duty (10%) = 11,000€
+ Customs fee (300€) = 11,300€
+ Revsedge fee (1000€) = 12,300€
+ VAT (20% France) = 14,760€
Total estimated budget = 14,760€ (taking delivery at port)
- For a +30 year old vehicle :
Total price at port = 10,000€
+ Customs duty (5.5%) = 10,550€
+ Customs fee (300€) + VAT (20% France) = 10,910€
+Revsedge fee (1000€) + VAT (20% France) = 12,110€
Total estimated budget = 12,110€ (taking delivery at port)
